Anghami and Rotana Music Forge Stronger Alliance: Expanding into Live Concerts and Artist Collaborations

Middle East and North Africa (MENA) music streaming platform Anghami and Arabic record label Rotana Music have announced the renewal and expansion of their longstanding partnership, venturing into live concerts and artist collaborations.

This latest agreement builds upon their collaboration since 2012, with a significant milestone reached in April 2022 through a strategic alliance that made Rotana’s content globally accessible on Anghami’s platform.

On Tuesday (March 12), Anghami and Rotana Music revealed the extension of their partnership for an additional three years, aiming to broaden the scope of releases and collaborations across various content categories.

Eddy Maroun, Co-Founder & CEO of Anghami, expressed enthusiasm about the renewed partnership, emphasizing their joint commitment to enhancing the Arabic music landscape and providing unique opportunities for both artists and fans.

Salem al-Hindi, CEO of Rotana Music, highlighted the company's dedication to serving and delighting Saudi, Gulf, and Arab audiences, emphasizing the importance of innovation and creativity in the rapidly evolving music industry. He welcomed the partnership renewal, anticipating its positive impact on Rotana's global presence and its relationship with artists.

Breaking away from the conventional licensing model, the new agreement extends beyond granting Anghami access to Rotana’s extensive Arabic music catalog. It encompasses live concerts and collaborations between artists, promising a dynamic and immersive experience for users.

Anghami, renowned for its diverse streaming catalog exceeding 100 million songs, caters to over 120 million registered users and boasts partnerships with over 40 telecom companies. With offices in multiple cities across MENA and a subscriber base of 1.73 million as of the third quarter of 2023, Anghami continues to expand its reach and offerings.

On the other hand, Rotana Music, headquartered in Riyadh, prides itself on owning the largest Arabic music repertoire and operates as a multifaceted media and entertainment company. With a wide-ranging presence across television, radio, and digital platforms, Rotana reaches over 500 million viewers and listeners worldwide.

In a notable development, Warner Music acquired a minority stake in Rotana Music in February 2021, affirming the Saudi firm's significant valuation and its position as a key player in the Arabic music industry.
