Apple Music Unveils Premium Data Analytics Toolkit for Record Labels and Distributors


Apple Music is introducing a new ‘premium’ data analytics toolkit aimed at record labels and music distributors. This toolkit, known as the Apple Music Partner Program, offers a variety of tools to help partners track trends and global radio plays, utilizing Shazam technology.

The platform aims to provide advanced analytics to its partners, enabling them to break new talent and uncover insights about their content. This new program builds upon Apple Music’s existing analytics platform, Apple Music For Artists, which launched in 2019 and allows artists to monitor their streaming data on Apple Music.

The Partner Program is accessible through dashboards and APIs, offering advanced analytics and a Premier Support service that provides labels and distributors with direct access to Apple Music's support team. The program also includes exclusive virtual events for members.

One standout feature of the Apple Music Partner Program is the Chart Explorer tool, which offers access to over 4,500 Apple Music charts from more than 270 locations worldwide. It also provides historical charts so labels and distributors can track artist milestones.

Additionally, the program introduces the Radio Spins tool, which uses Shazam technology to monitor over 40,000 radio stations worldwide. Apple Music plans to publicly publish global radio charts on its platform and Shazam.com.

Real Time Listeners is another tool included in the program, providing real-time data on listener counts for artists and their songs. The Apple Music Atlas tool offers detailed music data for over 100 million recordings from millions of albums and artists.

The Apple Music Partner Program is launching for a limited number of record labels and distributors in the U.S. that directly distribute to Apple Music. Believe is one of the pilot partners participating in this new program.
