The 19th Edition of Mawazine Festival Kicks Off with Star-Studded Performances

 


The 19th edition of Mawazine Festival commenced with a vibrant evening featuring Lebanese artist Hiba Tawaji on the stage of the National Theatre Mohammed V on Thursday, June 20th. Tawaji adorned a traditional Kanoun hat during her performance, adding a festive touch to the event, which concluded with her greeting the audience and waving the Moroccan flag. She later shared moments from the press conference on her Instagram, thanking Mawazine for their warm welcome and professionalism.


Following suit, Balqees was warmly welcomed in Rabat, where she enthralled the audience with Moroccan rhythms, eliciting chants of "Allah yatik as-saha" (May God give you health). Balqees expressed her joy and excitement for her upcoming performance on June 23rd at the Nahda stage, marking her debut at Mawazine with her latest Moroccan-dialect release, "Ta'akher Qalbak". She also shared glimpses of her arrival and press conference attire on social media.


Carole Samaha's arrival in Rabat for her debut performance at Mawazine on June 21st was met with grand reception, including Moroccan-style hospitality with dates, milk, and traditional music by the Marrakech Orchestra. Samaha later posted a moment of her honorary recognition by the Lebanese Ambassador to Morocco on Instagram, expressing deep gratitude to her Moroccan fans for their affectionate welcome.


Haifa Wehbe was also warmly greeted upon her arrival in Rabat, receiving flowers and dancing to the tunes of the Marrakech Orchestra, with chants of "Allah Haifa". She shared her arrival moments on Instagram stories, expressing her love for her fans and eagerly anticipating her performance on June 24th at the Nahda stage.
