Live Nation Middle East and Egypt’s Inks Deal to Turn Egypt’s New Capital into an Entertainment Powerhouse

Egypt’s Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) has entered into a groundbreaking agreement with Live Nation Middle East and TicketsMarche to elevate the New Administrative Capital (NAC) into a world-class entertainment destination.

As part of this collaboration, iconic venues such as People’s Square, Nation’s Park, and the Green River will be transformed into state-of-the-art event spaces. These locations will host large-scale productions, reshaping the entertainment landscape in the region and attracting global audiences.

Khaled Abbas, Chairperson of ACUD, emphasized the initiative's impact on Egypt’s tourism and entertainment industries: “We aim to host over 10 major events starting in 2025, demonstrating the New Administrative Capital’s ability to accommodate international productions. These events will boost tourism and establish the city as a premier entertainment hub,” he stated in an interview with Daily News Egypt.

James Craven, President of Live Nation Middle East, highlighted the partnership's significance: “Our goal is to revolutionize live entertainment in the Middle East, crafting unforgettable experiences that will position Egypt’s New Administrative Capital on the global entertainment map.”

Mohamed Sirag, Managing Director and Chief Commercial Officer of TicketsMarche, described the alliance as a turning point for Egypt’s entertainment industry: “This partnership marks a major evolution in Egypt’s live entertainment sector. By leveraging Live Nation Middle East’s global expertise, NAC’s cutting-edge venues, and TicketsMarche’s commitment to enhancing the ticketing experience, we aim to redefine live events. Our vision extends beyond hosting international acts; it’s about positioning Egypt as a top-tier entertainment hub while setting new global benchmarks. Together, we will create unforgettable experiences that showcase Egypt’s progressive vision and cultural heritage to the world.”

The New Administrative Capital (NAC) is a colossal urban development situated approximately 45 kilometers east of Cairo. Launched in March 2015 by then-Housing Minister Mostafa Madbouly at the Egypt Economic Development Conference, the NAC is designed to alleviate Cairo’s congestion and bolster Egypt’s economic goals under the Egypt Vision 2030 initiative. Covering an expansive 170,000 feddans (about 714 square kilometers), the project is progressing in phases, with the first phase spanning over 40,000 feddans. The NAC aims to accommodate 6.5 million residents and features a government district, diplomatic quarter, cultural zones, a central business district, and 21 residential areas.

This strategic partnership is poised to transform the NAC into a global entertainment hotspot, fostering cultural exchange, economic growth, and international recognition for Egypt’s burgeoning entertainment industry.
